The Green Machine is a [[powered exoskeleton]] designed based on information that was able to survive the [[Algolis Invasion]], and the destruction of [[Weapons Research Facility T12A]]. During the battle, Sergeant "[[Ghost (Marine)|Ghost]]" was able to use the original Mark I ADS to fend off a [[Covenant]] attack before initiating its self-destruct. In the aftermath of the attack, surviving research on the exoskeleton was recovered and used to create Green Machine.{{Ref/Reuse|CFHeroes}} Visually, the suit is reminiscent of the original Mark I ADS save for an olive green paint coating. 

The Green Machine includes [[energy shielding]] that regenerates after it has not been hit for a few seconds; this plays well with hit-and-run raids and well-timed combined-arms strikes. It is armed with an array of miniguns, phased-plasma fusils, sonic [[blind wolf]] repellers, repair beacon pods, and fast-regenerating energy shields. The suit also includes a repair beacon ability heals up to ten nearby allies with constructor beams tuned to a pleasing [[UNSC Marine Corps|Marine Corps]]-approved green color. The suit also does not include a helmet, allegedly because of Johnson's "rugged good looks".{{Ref/Reuse|PL2}}{{Ref/Reuse|CFHeroes}}

The Green Machine can be upgraded to include several features:
