In [[2558]], Macrae and his team were shot down by [[Covenant remnant|Covenant]] forces while searching for signal data that was discovered during the [[S1/Catherine/Galileo|attack]] on [[Galileo Base]]. Macrae and some of his teammates, including [[Scott Macrae|Macrae]], survived the crash and were later assisted by [[Fireteam Crimson]], who were sent to rescue them.
