In ''[[Halo 3]]''<nowiki></nowiki> Multiplayer [[Forge]] mode made it is possible to create floating objects or bases (also known as Sky Bases). There are three known methods of doing this.

=== Method One ===
Method One is to stack a number of objects, such as crates or containers on top of each other. Once you have reached the desired height, place a Receiver [[Teleporter]] Node on top the stack. Wait a few moments for the crates and teleporter to settle, then delete everything but the teleporter node. Afterward, place an object on top, such as a crate, container or pallet. To prevent the object from falling due to nearby explosions or contact, place a weapon holder on top of it. Be careful when building because resources are limited. Also, as you move on, delete the objects underneath if you don't need them; this helps conserve resources for the base you wish to make.

=== Method Two ===
Method Two is better if you wish to create really high platforms, or save time and effort. However for this method, you will either need a partner or a second controller. First, have your partner spawn a crate and raise it to the preferred height. Then, spawn a Receiver Teleporter Node and place it on the crate -- wait a few moments. Have your partner delete the crate and then place another crate on top of the teleporter node. To prevent the object from falling due to nearby explosions or contact, place a weapon holder on top of it. Be careful when building as resources are limited.

=== Method Three ===
Method Three allows you to place objects at any desired height within the map boundaries with only one person. Note: This only works with the immovable objects added in the heroic map pack, teleporter nodes, and weapon holders. You can not do it with items such as containers or crates. First spawn an object like a bridge and hold it in monitor mode exactly where you want it to be and angled how you want, but don't let go of it. Next, press start and save you map while still holding the object and don't move the object. Then, exit the map while still holding the object. You will notice that after you select exit your object will fall. Don't worry because when you re-enter your map, the object should still be floating where you were holding it unless you were holding something like a crate or fusion coil because they will automatically fall but will respawn where you held them. This is a great way to make rapidly falling exploding objects in an area.
