A normal First Aid station contains two health pack sockets. Since [[Orbital Drop Shock Troopers|ODST]] and [[UNSC Marine Corps|Marine personnel]] lack any form of [[energy shield]], like that used by [[John-117|previous playable characters]] in the Halo series, health is much more important, and thus the Medical Kiosk is a vital part of gameplay. It works in a similar fashion as the [[Health Pack|Health Packs]] from the original Halo game, [[Halo: Combat Evolved|''Halo: Combat Evolved'']].
