Regarding the recent reversion of the lighting/color correction: I am well aware that the image appears the way it does in The Art of Halo. However, I also believe it's rather counterproductive to recreate obvious printing imperfections as opposed to replicating the actual coloration from the original source. Now, for some bizarre reason, this exact image does not appear to exist online in high resolution (if it did, I would've uploaded that instead) - 899 x 506 is the biggest version that Google image search can provide. But even a cursory look at the results (or for that matter, the Halo: Combat Evolved main menu) makes it obvious that the coloring is supposed to be much darker. It's not a huge issue, but since we have this as the main image, the washed out coloration is a little distracting. ---Jugus (Talk | Contribs) 06:41, 21 June 2013 (EDT)

:Very well. I will upload a new one with the darker lighting, along with most of the white blemishes removed. --Xamikaze330 [Transmit|Files] 11:35, 21 June 2013 (EDT)Xamikaze330
::By the way, you forgot that there is another image I uploaded that is directly from the game itself. Of course I had to dial up the lighting a little bit because for some odd reason, every time I take a screenshot of a video game using Screen Grab on my computer, it always is far darker than it is supposed to be. (This never happens with screenshots from TV shows or movies.) But just because there is another means that this one nor the other should be deleted. Anyway, I thought we were originally going with an updated screenshot of Alpha Halo from Halo Anniversary? --Xamikaze330 [Transmit|Files] 11:47, 21 June 2013 (EDT)Xamikaze330
:::I went with the original ring over the Anniversary redesign for a number of reasons, the most important one being the fact that the imagery is simply more iconic and definitive. All other media featuring the Halos or Installation 04 itself use the original ring design largely unchanged, whereas the rather drastic redesign in Anniversary is the only instance to deviate from the norm. It's true that we generally tend to use the most recent appearance, but since this case pits an iconic and well-established design against a one-off anomaly originating from a game that is essentially an offshoot of the original (I like to think of Anniversary as an "alternative artistic interpretation" as opposed to an all-out retcon), I think it's best to go with the original version. --Jugus (Talk | Contribs) 16:57, 21 June 2013 (EDT)
::::Oh, well that makes sense, I guess. I mean, it was the first Halo game to come out after all. And yes, from that standpoint, it is rather an alternative artistic interpretation. Personally, I think 343 Industries used it more as an exercise, just to get a feel for what they're about to do. --Xamikaze330 [Transmit|Files] 17:08, 21 June 2013 (EDT)Xamikaze330
Too Many Images: Deletion of Some, but not All
Could someone please delete the older previous versions for me, please? Everything except for the last two current images. Special emphasis on EXCEPT THE LAST CURRENT TWO IMAGES. Thanks. --Xamikaze330 [Transmit|Files] 11:53, 21 June 2013 (EDT)Xamikaze330
:You know what? Scratch my last, I changed my mind. Go ahead and delete the other image, so that there is only the one with darker lighting. I uploaded the one with increased lighting as a separate file, then linked them to each other. Good compromise, I should think. --Xamikaze330 [Transmit|Files] 16:50, 22 June 2013 (EDT)Xamikaze330
