Second-order fast frigates were a classification of raptor employed by the Forerunner Ecumene during the Forerunner-Flood war.[1]
Overview[edit]
Fast frigates were classed as Second Order vessels by the Forerunners. They employed extremely advanced navigational techniques and Slipspace core configurations to make extremely rapid intragalactic transits throughout the Milky Way during the final days of the war with the Flood. These techniques made them resistant to the effects of reconciliation, even at levels which would cripple the movement of other, larger vessels. As such, they were one of the only types of ships permitted to travel through the Burn.[1]
Operational history[edit]
During the Fate of Maethrillian, there were six fast frigates carrying high-ranking members of the Builder Security. The Master Builder, Faber-of-Will-and-Might, used one of these ships to escape the Capital when Faber's personal security attacked and killed all but Sharp-by-Striking, the commander of the vessel.[2]
