During the battle, [[Covenant]] forces attacked Madrigal. The [[United Nations Space Command]] launched a defensive, battling the invading [[Covenant military]], while human [[Insurrectionist|insurgents]] organized the planet's evacuation. The rebels used their own [[freighter]]s to evacuate the planet's residents and brought them to a rebel refugee among the [[asteroid]]s of the nearby [[Hesiod]], a habitable complex known as [[the Rubble]].
