After enlisting in the [[Covenant]] [[Covenant military|military]] as is custom for all male [[Sangheili]], Fahl 'Nto became an [[obedientiary]] within the [[Fleet of Chastened Impiety]] known for particular ability to motivate the most uncooperative [[Kig-Yar]] warriors. He would progress his career, rising into the upper echelons of the [[Evocati]] and transferring to the [[Fleet of Particular Justice]] on the personal request of [[Supreme Commander]] [[Thel 'Vadam]]ee.{{Ref/Reuse|CFFire}}

 

Throughout the course of the [[Human-Covenant War]], 'Nto encountered a handful of [[Spartan]]s, most notably during the Covenant's [[Fall of Reach|conquest]] of [[Reach]] in [[2552]].{{Ref/Reuse|blood-moon}} There at Reach, 'Nto would lead assaults on key [[human]] military sites resulting in a string of victories.{{Ref/Reuse|CFFire}}

Sometime after the [[Great Schism]] and the end of the war, Fahl 'Nto joined Thel 'Vadam's revived [[Swords of Sanghelios]]. Given the faction's willingness to work with [[human]]ity and even fight alongside the "demons" he had previously encountered in violent fashion,{{Ref/Reuse|blood-moon}} 'Nto's mind remained in a constant dance between resolution and shame regarding his past actions.{{Ref/Reuse|CFFire}}{{Ref/Reuse|blood-moon}}

By early [[2560]], the seasoned Evocatus had been assigned a leadership role within a joint Swords of Sanghelios-[[UNSC]] team under the command of [[Fleetmaster]] [[Arkad Nar 'Kulul]], one of the leaders of the [[Sanghelios home defense fleet]]. During the [[Banished]] [[Battle of Suban|assault]] on [[Suban]], Fahl 'Nto and [[Orim 'Kasaan]] were given command of a Swords taskforce with the goal of reclaiming the [[Mines of Shua'ree]] from the invaders. Prior to the operation, 'Nto led an advance scout team consisting of Spartans [[Glyyss]] and [[Trell]] of [[Fireteam Jorogumo]] and the Kig-Yar named [[Dahks]]. After scouting out the mine's entrance from a distance, 'Nto ordered Dahks to hold position and provide overwatch before telling Glyyss to notify [[Jaarov]] and [[Zhinn]]—the other two Spartans participating in the mission—that they would be ready shortly and that 'Kasaan could approach with his [[Phantom]].{{Ref/Reuse|blood-moon}}

As 'Nto and Glyyss approached the mouth of the mine, Trell had taken up a second vantage point to snipe from. Once they reached the opening, Dahks marked two nearby Banished warriors to be taken out first. 'Nto executed one while Glyyss killed the other. With the patrol eliminated, 'Nto contacted ''[[Scorrin's Blade]]''—the {{Pattern|Hekar Taa|blockade runner}} acting as support—to confirm that the [[Banshee]]s were on approach. Shortly thereafter, the Banshees arrived to dump [[plasma]] and [[fuel rod]]s into the Banished's [[Barukaza Workshop siege-hauler]]s being loaded with raw ''[[kemuksuru]]''. The resulting explosions sent a wave of confusion through the occupying forces within the mines. Then, Dahks and Trell opened up with their sniper rifles as 'Kasaan arrived with the Phantom at the mouth of the mine, releasing at least a dozen Sangheili warriors and two Spartans—Jaarov and Zhinn—into the chaos.{{Ref/Reuse|blood-moon}}

As the Swords of Sanghelios forces swept through mines and slaughtered the mostly Sangheili Banished infantry, [[Jiralhanae Chieftain|Chieftain]] [[Ipso]] appeared alongside two [[Jiralhanae]] [[Captain (Covenant)|Captain]]s. Ipso asked 'Nto how it felt to know that his own kind—the Sangheili—were to blame for the Banished's easy intrusion into their [[Urs system|home system]]. 'Nto retorted that it seemed Ipso was speaking from experience and he asked if the Jiralhanae was more comfortable wielding words than wielding his [[Gravity hammer (fiction)|gravity hammer]]. Smiling, Ipso proposed that they find the answer to this question. In the resulting fight, a Swords operative managed to take down one of the Captains just before being pulverized by Ipso's hammer. 'Nto took a [[Veporokk Workshop Ravager]] blade to his shoulder as he thrust a [[Energy dagger|dagger]] into the second Captain's mouth. Ipso then knocked 'Nto to the ground and prepared to finish the Evocatus off with the blade of his hammer. However, Glyyss leapt in front of 'Nto and took the blow for the downed Sangheili, instantly dying as the massive blade lodged itself in their back. 'Nto simply asked "Why?" Yet, he fully understood that Glyyss would not be able to give an answer. Plasma fire from the Phantom forced Ipso to retreat, giving Jaarov and Zhinn the chance to recover the body of their fallen comrade. Orim 'Kasaan rushed over to Fahl 'Nto and urged him to get up so that they could leave. As the Swords of Sanghelios retreated, [[Koal 'Mal]] demanded that they not give up the attack, saying that all the blood they spilled would be for naught. 'Nto, however, pointed out that ''kemuksuru'' would not be the deciding factor in this battle and that they would return to reclaim the Mines of Shua'ree when the time was right.{{Ref/Reuse|blood-moon}}

Fahl 'Nto wears [[Ultra-class armor]] and is known to regularly utilize wrist-mounted [[energy dagger]]s in combat.{{Ref/Reuse|CFFire}}{{Ref/Reuse|blood-moon}} During the Fall of Reach, 'Nto wielded a {{Pattern|Elo'Nakada|concussion rifle}}.{{Ref/Reuse|CFFire}}
