The station has a similar overall design to the {{Class|Moncton|orbital weapon platform}}, though lacks the ''Moncton''{{'}}s large habitation ring surrounding the gun mechanism. Two [[UNSC frigate|frigate]] docks are present to allow a friendly warship to dock at the station. The station itself has a height of around {{Convert|2000|m|ft}},{{Ref/NoteReuse|Scale}} around 1.5× that of the ''Moncton''. The longer acceleration channels on the OWP's spinal coilgun allow the projectile fired an extremely high muzzle velocity, capable of being fired at "point-four-tenths" the speed of light.{{Ref/Novel|HTFoR|Chapter=31}}{{Ref/Note|Due to ambiguity in the wording of this statement in the original ''Fall of Reach'' book, it is unclear what precise figure the source text intended.}}
