In Firefight, players can activate night vision just like in the campaign. Spartan players have the default green night vision but Elites have a purple variant.

Compared to Spartans, Elites are faster, tougher (9 additional shield points and 5 additional health points), and can jump higher. They can also fully regenerate any lost health whereas Spartans can only do so in thirds (up to 33%, 67%, and 100% max health). During the multiplayer beta the armor ability evade was originally exclusive to Elites.

In multiplayer “Elites” have 9 more shield points and 5 more health points than “Spartans”, as well as having the ability to fully regenerate their health, and a faster base movement speed. They can also jump slightly higher and faster, and the armor ability evade was originally exclusive to players who played as Elites in the beta for Halo: Reach.
