Edge Closer is the fifteenth track (Disc 1 Track 15) included in Halo 3: Original Soundtrack, and plays in the Halo 3 campaign level The Ark.
Edge Closer is a song included in the Halo 3: Original Soundtrack. It plays during the level The Ark, during the battle at the bottom of the Cartographer tower.

It starts with a gloomy, mysterious melody, reminiscent of the music played when facing the Flood in Halo 2. At around 0:40, the music quickens to a rapid drums beat. Later on, a soft melody is added to the background. At 2:10, choir starts a major melody, with drums and orchestral accompaniment. Near the end, the drums get dramatically louder, and the song fades to a close.

The piece starts with a gloomy, mysterious melody played in digital notes. The section plays in ambiance during the encounter with Jiralhanae Stalkers in the Cartographer's spire. Rapid drums beats fade in, followed by digital notes joining in with a melody in the background. The tempo quicken into a climax, then ends. This section plays when John-117 battles Cethegus and his Jumpers. In the final section, the choir take over with a major melody, followed by a reprise of heavy percussion in Overcome from the track Behold a Pale Horse. Near the end, the drums crescendo dramatically louder, and the piece fades to a close. This piece plays during ending cutscene of the level.
It runs for 3 minutes and 1 second (3:01).
