Dural 'Mdama is the eldest son of [[Raia 'Mdama|Raia]] and [[Jul 'Mdama]], although he is unaware who his father is, as Sangheili custom dictates the youth are solely judged on their own abilities and not by their heritage. He and his brother [[Asum]] lived in the [[State of Mdama]] and were taught [[martial arts|combat skills]] by [[Naxan]] in their home at [[Bekan Keep]]. Following his mother's death at the start of the [[Blooding Years]], Dural swore to exact vengeance on her killers and vowed to fight [[humans]], as they supported the [[Arbiter]] [[Thel 'Vadam]] and posed a threat to [[Sanghelios]] in his eyes.<ref name="Epilogue"/> Feeling responsible for his mother's death during the [[Siege at Kolaar]], the fundamentalist leader [[Avu Med 'Telcam]] took Dural on as an apprentice, starting him off as a cadet among the Servants of the Abiding Truth.<ref>'''Halo: Mortal Dictata''', ''page 123''</ref>  

By the time of the [[Battle of Requiem]] Dural had become a leading member of the Servants of the Abiding Truth under the name '''Pale Blade'''.<ref name="Mythos"/> Several months later, on January 21, [[2558]], the Abiding Truth were dealt a crushing blow when Avu Med 'Telcam and two of his ranking commanders were [[Assassination of Avu Med 'Telcam|assassinated]] in the Servant's headquarters on [[New Llanelli]]. == Personality & Traits ==

Like his Father, Dural has pale skin. He also wears pale colored armor. He also has fanatical beliefs in the Servants of Abiding Truths religion. He also dipses Humans and The Sword of Sanghelios for the death of his mother. Despite his scorn for the Swords of Sanghelios, he's reluctant to kill female sangheili even if their his foes as Raia Mdama taught him to spare females when she was still alive.
