#REDIRECT UNSC navigation core
The Invasion Core is a type of objective that is used in the Invasion game type. It comes in two different forms, Covenant and Human, depending on whether Spartans or Elites are on Offense in the gametype. Capturing the core can be the objective in any of the three phases of invasion, but in most variants (including all matchmaking variants) it is the final objective.

When carrying the core, the player is slowed down much like carrying a flag or support weapon, but unlike carrying a flag or bomb, the player cannot melee with the core, thus necessitating an organized escort. The core is carried to a drop of zone resembling a hill marker where on some maps a Pelican or Phantom will be waiting.

On Boneyard invasion the human data core is housed inside a building where the Elites have to steal it from. This data core contain navigational data which the Elites want. It appears as a rectangular box shape with handles that is about as long as a mongoose. This version of the core is also used on Breakpoint and is the default core on forge map invasion maps including any made in Forge World

On Spire, the core is a Covenant power core that powers the Spires shields, which the Spartans are trying to disable. This version of the core is located at the top of the spire in the control room and is more round in appearance than the human core and is purple in colour, befitting usual Covenant aesthetics.
