The '''Covenant Navy''' is the branch of the [[Covenant military]] responsible solely for space operations. ==Great Schism==
Throughout the majority of the [[Great Schism|Covenant Civil War]] or commonly known as the "Great Schism," (as referred to by the [[Covenant Separatists]]) the Covenant Military was violently splintered between those loyal to [[Covenant Empire|Covenant]], who continued to believe in the [[San 'Shyuum|Prophet]]'s wisdom and the separatists, who followed the [[Thel 'Vadam|Arbiter]] against them. As the battle raged, the [[Prophet of Truth|High Prophet of Truth]] formally transferred command of the Covenant Navy to the [[Jiralhanae]], a position once exclusively held by the [[Sangheili]]. The Covenant Separatists wiped out the primary Loyalist fleet at the [[Battle of Installation 00]].
