The '''Cougar''' is a lightweight, fast and highly flexible armored vehicle to be used in the upcoming game [[Halo Wars]] by [[UNSC]] forces. Although heavy armor fire will blow the Cougar away quite easily, this vehicle is highly effective holding off enemy armored vehicles while the slower armored ones are on transit. The Cougar had gained infamy in several urban tactical situations prior to the deployments in the war with the [[Covenant]]. <ref>http://halowars.com/Features.aspx</ref>

It appears as a somewhat standard armored fighting vehicle with a pair of wheels up front and four in the rear. It bears a small turret that mounts two autocannons and a windscreen on its forward body with two side windows for maximum visibility for the driver.

The Cougar's primary function is the same of all armored personnel carriers (APC), able to use its weapons against nearby armoured and infantry units, but the Cougar is not built to be an assault vehicle.  It's also the UNSC ground unit that can carry the most number of troopers.  (Its function is similar to the modern Stryker or BTR APC.).  The autocannons may have a similiar firing method to the Humvee's machine gun.
