''John runs up the length of the hallway to the door at the end, which opens, leading to a balcony overlooking the station's exterior. John is unaffected, though his armor flickers orange as he collapses on the floor and blacks out.'' 

''John awakens sometime later, the staff now reduced to ashes. Cortana is sitting on the pedestal, forlorn. Vapor is rising from the ash piles that are all that remain of the scientists, as well as John's armor. He wakes up, looks around, and gets up onto one knee. Cortana looks up at him.''

''John stands up with his assault rifle. He looks around at the ash piles, still smoking.

*Shortly after passing the rescued group of scientists the player can find a golden frag grenade. While sometimes mistaken for an intentional Easter egg, it is actually a graphics glitch resulting from the gold lighting below the floor. This glitch will occasionally also affect dropped weapons and even corpses in the same area, causing them to also glow bright gold.

* In the hangar, if the player activates the barrier while a [[Type-44 Troop Carrier|Phantom]] is still inside the station, the vehicle will explode once it comes in contact with the barrier.
* The beginning cutscene is separated into two sections. Skipping the initial scene will lead to the scene in which John take controls of the Lich.
* In the cavern, the Mantises operated by the humans are registered as unmanned vehicles on the [[motion tracker]].
* The airlocks through which the Covenant enters two of the smaller bays feature switches which the player can activate if they reach them before the doors open and the Covenant enter the station. Hitting these switches causes the outer airlock door to open, blasting any Covenant inside into space.
