During the following escape, he was wounded by a [[Covenant Empire|Covenant]] [[Unggoy|Grunt]]'s [[Type-33 Guided Munitions Launcher|Needler]]. Harland was able to patch the wound up with [[biofoam]] to keep him alive until he could get medical attention. Despite being wounded to the verge of death, Cochran managed to take the [[M41 Surface-to-Surface Rocket Medium Anti-Vehicle/Assault Weapon|rocket launcher]] from [[Private]] [[Walker]], who was in a state of shock and could not do so himself.
