==Biography==
Cassandra was a genetically, intellectually, and physically gifted child chosen for the [[SPARTAN-II]] project. She was abducted by the [[Office of Naval Intelligence]] and replaced with a [[flash clone]] when he was around six years old. He and seventy-four other children were taken to [[Reach]] in the [[Epsilon Eridani system]]. There, she was trained by the [[dumb AI|"dumb" AI]], [[Déjà]] and [[Chief Petty Officer]] [[Franklin Mendez]], with the two serving as the Spartans' teacher and drill instructor, respectively. 

In [[2519]], she was taken alongside her fellow trainees to a [[Military Wilderness Training Preserve]] for a mission that required each trainee to be left alone in the woods with a only a single piece of a map. It was up to them to find one another so that they could piece the map together and locate the designated extraction point. The mission was ultimately a success. At another point during training, Cassandra and the others traveled to [[Emerald Cove]] for an underwater mission. There, they abandoned Mendez and lived on their own on an island for a few days. By [[2523#July|July 14, 2523]], Cassandra and her fellow Spartan-IIs had begun facing the formidable and ruthless [[UNSC Marine Corps]]' [[Tango Company]] in simulated [[War Games|war games]]. 

On [[2525#March|March 9, 2525]], Cassandra and the rest of the Spartan-II candidates underwent their [[SPARTAN-II augmentation procedures|augmentation procedures]] at [[Medical Facility Endurance]] orbiting Reach. Cassandra was significantly crippled during the surgeries and she could not continue her military career as a SPARTAN-II. She attended a military funeral aboard the [[carrier]], the {{UNSCShip|Atlas}}, in the [[Lambda Serpentis system]] for the Spartans who died during the process. In [[2552]], Cassandra was residing at the [[UNSC]]'s [[M2SL Recovery Station]]. Following the [[Fall of Reach]] and the subsequent discovery and [[Battle of Installation 04|destruction]] of a [[Halo ring]], [[Installation 04]], she reached out to [[John-117]], survivor of both. She expressed relief at the fact that he was still alive and informed him that her recovery was still ongoing. She would soon be proceeding to the fourth stage of her rehabilitation. This step in the process would be more painful than prior ones, but she noted that at the very least she was grateful to be covered in skin once more. In her message, she also commented on John's imminent acquisition of the [[MJOLNIR Powered Assault Armor/Mark VI|Mark VI]] platform of [[MJOLNIR Powered Assault Armor]] and her reticence to see further [[Covenant]] technology used in [[human]]s' own. She told John that she and others missed him and that she had asked [[Sergeant Major]] [[Avery Johnson]] to let her know if the Chief was ever near M2SL. She closed on a sad note, given the current state of the [[galaxy]] and the loss of so many that had been family to she and John, and promised to contact him again in the future.
