Cairo Station, Hull Classification Symbol ODA-142, is a Orbital Defense Platform in geosynchronous orbit  above Earth, over the city of Cairo which gives it it's name. It is in the same battle cluster asAthens Station and Malta Station so it seems to be mainly guarding the area above the Mediterranian.

Station
The Cairo ODP main purpose is as a defensive station for Earth. It's main armament is a a Mk. V "Super" MAC gun, capable of causing severe damage to even a shielded Covenant warship with a single hit . It however does not seem to have any kind of point defence weapons, even though there is a possiblity of an A.I. aboard them as Cortana was onboard the Cairo, because enemy boarding craft seem to get to the station unhindered. It runs on the power from a planetside generator.

Internal
Cairo Locations

Internally it is very similar to UNSC ships with set out decks and specialised rooms. It includes habitate areas, armouries, a command center, firing control commons over looked by secruiy rooms, recreation rooms, secruity centers, areas for storing MAC rounds, a mono ail, terminals for the monorails, umbilical sections for docking vessels and hanges for various smaller craft. Its areas seemed to be either named after colours or named after parts of the NATO phonetic alphabet or after colors and then sometimes a number. These may refer to the deck they are on, how many there are on a deck or used for color coded guidance.

Like all UNSC space contructs it featured regular bulkheads for protection against hull breaches but seemed especially adept for fending of boarding actions. It had large stockpiles of defensive items, large amounts of machine guns, secruity booths providing prefect defence points and regular weapons lockers in the walls.

The station includes large cargo elevators, stair wells for changing levels, numerous interconnecting corridors, airlocks, walkways outside the station and other facilities.

History
In 2552, John-117 received the MJOLNIR Mk. VI armor in the Cairo armory prior to attending an awards ceremony on the station's command center.  The ceremony was interrupted by the First Battle of Earth with Fleet Admiral Hood commanding UNSC forces from the station.  Unlike Athens and Malta, Cairo survived the Covenant attempt to detonate an Anti-Matter Bomb onboard.  In an ironic twist, the bomb was located and used by John-117 to destroy a Covenant assault carrier. When SPARTAN-117 returned later to Earth Cairo was still intact but appeared damaged from the battle. Lord Hood was still onboard and in command of the escalating Second Battle of Earth .
