==Background==
Late in the [[Human-Covenant War]], the Office of Naval Intelligence created the Asymmetrical Action Group as a cross-branch effort to disarm, disrupt, and dissolve [[Covenant Empire|Covenant]] activities.{{Ref/Reuse|EVG}} The group was formed around unconventional warfare veterans, though it eventually began to incorporate [[SPARTAN Program|Spartans]] into its ranks, such as [[Joshua-029]].{{Ref/Reuse|EVG}}{{Ref/Site|Id=CF156|URL=https://www.halowaypoint.com/news/canon-fodder-fleetcom-fiction|Site=Halo Waypoint|Page=Canon Fodder - Fleetcom Fiction|D=14|M=08|Y=2024}}

Though the AAG's non-Spartan operators wore their own standard armor, the Beta-5 Division contracted [[Chalybs Defense Solutions]] to create a variant of the [[MJOLNIR Powered Assault Armor]] for its in-field Spartan operators.
