The '''Assault Sangheili''' is a theorised Sangheili special forces rank encountered on level [[Floodgate (Level)|Floodgate]]. The true name of their role, rank, and their function is unknown at this moment in time.

==Harness==

The Assault Sangheili wear older model Elite Harnesses, the [[Assault Harness]] with distinct dark purple livery. It is too purple to be [[Spec Ops Elite]], who use dark blue [[Combat Harness]]es and too dark to be the Assualt Harness of [[Fleet Security]].

==Theorised Roles==

It is theorised these Elite warriors, who are below the rank of [[Elite Major]], as shown by the single Major who leads them. It is theorised that due to the protective value of the armor against kinetic and concussive blows they are specialised for using [[Orbital Insertion Pod]], the armor potentially increasing their chances of survival. The other theory is that the armor is used for anti Flood operations, as its properties would be useful against their close combat assaults and its sealed nature would protect them from flood spores.

It has been proposed by some that these are the new special operations elites.
