It was assigned as an exploration vessel, traveling to distant stars and charting dangerous [[slipspace]] routes, and fought hostile civilizations that would not accept the Covenant's [[Great Journey|religion]]. Unfortunately, the ''Ardent Prayer'' would gain no battle honors for its service and its duties were considered beneath the notice of true warriors.
