Taylor Henry Miles was born on [[2519#June|June 3, 2519]] in [[Losantiville]], [[Seven Hills]], [[Mars]].{{Ref/Reuse|enc09}}{{Ref/Reuse|Enc22p97}} Before enlisting in the [[UNSC]], Miles worked as a road-train driver, at some point driving the ''[[Flying Dutchman]]''. Drafted while attending university,{{Ref/Reuse|video}} Miles properly enlisted in the [[UNSC Marine Corps]] on [[2540|September 9, 2540]] and he eventually became a corporal.{{Ref/Reuse|fieldguide}} The last time he visited Earth prior to the Battle of Earth was at a weekend pass, the day before he applied to the ODSTs. Miles was accepted and while an serving as an ODST, he befriended [[Kojo Agu|Romeo]] and became romantically involved with another ODST, [[Gretchen Ketola]], whom he later married.
