The MA5K is a carbine version of the standard MA5 Individual Combat Weapon System. It is fully automatic and receives a thirty-round magazine of [[M118 7.62x51mm Full Metal Jacket Armor-Piercing|7.62mm ammunition]].<ref name="Waypoint"/> The weapon is likely lighter and easier to carry than larger assault weapons. Aesthetically, it resembles a cross between an MA5 ICWS and a [[BR55 Service Rifle]], and features a design that appears almost skeletal. It is likely that the MA5K was produced specifically for Special Operations forces because of its lighter frame, which would allow quicker maneuvering and a less visible profile, and probably for its lighter aural signature, which suits the requirements of commando missions well.
