Fail-Safe Detonation
Purpose
A "Fail-Safe Detonation" is a term that was used to explain the Self Destruct system of a W.I.A, or K.I.A Spartan-II Mjolnir Powered Amored Suit. Once a Spartan is killed or wounded fatally, he/she will have to active the protocal themselves or a close by Spartan. This is done to avoid capture of the suite and or wearer for identification or technological study.
Effectiveness
The tiny access panel at the back of the suite is opened to activate the protocal, it is activated by typing sevral digits only the wearer knows. Once activated, a 15 second count down timer starts. Once it hits zero, the the suite Fusion reactor overloads and burns everything in its path in a 10 meter radius with a follow up explosion to finish anything alive.
Trivia
- Master Chief is the only known Spartan to activate the Fail-Safe Detonation on Grace's suite after being killed by a Brute in the Covenant city Unyielding Hierophant.
