Humans designed English under the assumption that we are all there is. "Human" is just a word like "person" or "ape". Humans are not considered a specific people like Americans or British, so we don't capitalize the word. In a science-fiction universe, multiple species are their own peoples and so are capitalized. I believe the word "human" is excepted because it already is a part of English with its recognized grammatical traits. Sometimes this changes for the alien perspective, but as "human" is the predominant spelling and the spelling used by those who have the authority to know (we wouldn't reference Jacob Keyes as Keezz), that is what should be our standard. --[[User:Dragonclaws|Dragonclaws]]([[User talk:Dragonclaws|talk]]) 15:53, 23 June 2011 (EDT)
