Unless the UNSC is starting to push the Banished back, a possibility that is inconsistent with the dialogue spoken by the UNSC forces throughout the level.

*Sometimes a marine unit can be seen in the southern part of the map that is impassable by level barrier. They are unable to move back into the playable area.
*It is recommended to eliminate the Jiralhanae Warlords as soon as possible. After the the second group of reinforcements (2 Scorpions, 2 Warthogs, and 2 Nightingales) arrive, send an attack force with at least Spartans, Scorpions, and Cyclopes to defeat the Warlords. They are heavily guarded by Infantry, Wraiths, and Engineers. Prioritize on killing the Engineers as they can heal each other as well as units around them. Use Turret Drop, ODSTs, Pelican Gunships, or Archer Missiles if necessary.
**Note that the 10-minute countdown begins after Cutter's dialogue instead of 10 minutes from mission timer.
